Note added Wed 06/07/2022 by Thomas Young Category: Other/General Described on the BR diagram sheet as 'Ramp Wagon (MkII)' these two batches totalled five wagons and were originally built in 1940/1941. The wagons had removable axle sets and hinged buffers. When required, one axle set would be removed, with the headstock at that end then resting at rail level. The floor of the wagon then formed a ramp to allow the loading/unloading of military vehicles. They were only intended for use in special circumstances, with locations that saw regular traffic already equipped with fixed loading ramps. All five wagons were vacuum piped only (at least one is reported to have later been dual-piped) and were withdrawn in the early 1980s. Design code PX014A covered MODA95000 and MODA95001 with plain bearings, PX014B was for MODA95002-MODA95004 which were identical apart from having roller bearings.
