Relates to: Batch 37.84.4667.001-200
Category: Numbering
Note text: This is actually the second time that this batch of wagons has carried these numbers. They were delivered new as these numbers in mid-2008, but by the end of the year had all been renumbered into the 31 80 4667 series. The batch of wagons numbered 37 84 4667 001-050 were renumbered to 31 80 4667 201-250, all others being renumbered 'direct'. The reason for this numbering was to avoid a potential clash with an existing set of wagons numbered 33 80 4667 001-050. The 31 80 4667 series of wagons were regular visitors to the UK until early 2011. By the time they next returned in early 2013, they had all been reverted to their original 37 84 4667 numbers, 201-250 once again becoming 001-050. From this point, 200 of the batch started to be used extensively in domestic steel flows, being joined in circa 2015 by the remaining 50, which had been seeing use in Italy. Most of the fleet can still be found working on flows out of South Wales.
