Numbering |

It seems that some books have given incorrect information about this batch of 6 wagons. The best source seems to be 'Private Owner Wagons in Colour - For the Modeller and Historian' (Ratcliffe, Ian Allan, 2009) which states that they were built by Procor using components from other wagons. UKF had taken over the supply of Nitric Acid to British Nuclear Fuels in 1982 but a plan to use bogie tank wagons was not successful, hence the new batch. They were apparently known as 'Baby Nitrics'! The former numbers for both the tank barrels and the underframes are in the LTSV database (taken from a 1989 listing by Roger Harris), but because they are not one-to-one renumberings, they do not currently display correctly. I am working on this... |
