Photo as 189 in 'The Final Chapter' was taken at the old AEC works in Ferry Lane. A better print of this photo shows a Taylor Walker sign in the right back ground that would be appropriate for the Royal Standard public house on the corner with Blackhorse Road. Also visible in the shed to the left is one of the AEC Mercury tower wagons,identifiable with enhancement as 196 (aka 84Q), which was delivered 2 months later in 8/36. That was allocated to Stonebridge Park till 1959 so the only time these were likely to be together is when being commissioned for service. | Clive G | 29/04/2021 |
