The demountable bodies carried by many of the large lorries in the London Underground fleet are capable of standing on their own, so to speak. This is achieved by the use of drop-down legs, as demonstrated here by one of the Locomotors ERU bodies. Note the crew accommodation at the front, and the side lockers.
