Peaked caps and cars with roof-mounted roundels epitomised the appearance of bus inspectors for many years. Often the most publicly visible type of service vehicle, a variety of estate cars and vans were used. In the mid-1980s the Astra was the vehicle of choice, cars being badged as Vauxhalls while vans like this one carried the Bedford name. Colin caught 3271B (A443SCR) at Enfield garage on 30th May 1986. Like many such vehicles, 3271B had a short working life, being used from 1984 until 1986.
