Four Leyland Freighter bus recovery trucks were delivered in October 1984, joining two already in the fleet. All initially ran on trade plates but this batch was later allocated numbers in the B73xXJD series. At least two were subsequently rebuilt with modernised lifting gear and new side panels, and these went on to serve the bus operating units created in 1989, London General taking 2415L. Running from the garage at Merton, it was pictured towing a Routemaster bus through Victoria on 20th July 1992.
