Between 1981 and 1984, London Country took delivery of 11 Ford Cargo lorries, most of which were dropsides with partial tilt covers. 49F was the second of these, new in July 1982 and photographed at Garston Garage a few weeks later on 3rd September. When LCBS was split up in 1986, 49F stayed in the North West sector and was eventually renumbered 1037 in the Luton and District series. It had by then lost the tilt cover, but gained an equipment box under the rear of the body. It was also repainted into the short lived LCNW green and grey scheme.
