Details: A fairly typical London Transport lorry of the late-1970s/early-1980s was Ford D0607 1983F, new in 1976 and photographed leaving Ash Grove Garage on 16th February 1987. It had a half-tilt cover from new, and hence the bodywork had fixed sides in the forward half and dropside doors in the rear half. A photo taken in 1984 shows the framework for the half-tilt, although the actual cover was missing at the time. By 1987 the tilt appears to have been shortened slightly, and the wheelarches have been repainted from grey to black. Always based at Holloway Garage, 1983F was to be sold before the end of the year.
