Comments:I was an ardent spotter of buses, lorries, Underground, and BR from 1959 to 1969 - then I got married! Always into models, I continued to build white metal bus kits for the next 10 years, then sold the fleet of 500 models to a friend when the family grew. During that time I'd been the first London area secretary of the Model Bus Federation, and had produced my own white metal kits under the Fleetmaster Models name, primarily to make some service vehicles. I ended a career on London Underground in 2000, at which time I was well into building a BR railway layout in the loft. The latest project is modelling London's transport in 1959/60 - buses, Underground, BRS and Pickfords. My good friend John Howe has been inspirational in designing garage kits and giving encouragement for buildings in what will be a series of dioramas, and additional shelving to house buses on every route at all 100 garages. Service vehicles are to me the vital link that held the LT empire together, and models seem a very good way of bringing it back to life.
