The bus works at Aldenham and Chiswick were both large enough to warrant the provision of dedicated emergency vehicles. At first this included fire appliances but in later years only ambulances were supplied. The last generation of these were a pair of Bedford CALV models, new in 1968/69. 1532B (VLW688G) shown above was allocated to Chiswick, while Aldenham had 1492B (SMK783F). Both survived until the closure of the two works in the mid-1980s.
