London Transport bought six Leyland Freighter bus recovery trucks in the early 1980s, the first of which was 2372L. For many years this was stationed at Cricklewood bus garage, and was found attending to an ailing Leyland National at Golders Green on 28th January 1989. A variety of lifting equipment was fitted to these vehicles, and most were rebuilt with modified gear and side panels. 2372L was not one of these, and it was later used by London Underground at Acton in a blue and white livery.
