| Parked on Melcombe Street (near Baker Street Station) in the early hours of 23rd August 2012 was Ford Transit high-roof crew van 7198F. Except that it can't be 7198, as that number has already appeared on a Tube Lines Vauxhall Astra van based at Frank Pick House. Unless we receive an official fleetlist we may never know what this van is actually numbered, but we can indulge in some speculation. As already noted, the four electric Transit vans for London Buses appeared rather strangely as 7160F, 7161F, 7162F and 7193F, while the fleetnumber 7163 remained curiously vacant. Perhaps the red 7193F should actually be 7163F, while either 7198F or 7198V was meant to be 7193.... Another unknown at present is where this van is allocated, although sightings at Lambeth North make London Road depot a candidate. |
