The practice of converting old buses into towing vehicles remained popular outside London until the 1990s at least. Here is the first of two very similar-looking Welsh examples. New to Western Welsh (later National Welsh) in 1971, this Leyland Leopard with Willowbrook bodywork was converted into towing bus E1074 during the 1980s. It was based at Aberdare depot until being sold in 1992. National Welsh itself went into receivership that year. Note that the offside fleetname is in Welsh. |
