Arriva and Stagecoach have both recently started renewing their crew ferry fleets, replacing vehicles that had only worked for three years. In the case of Arriva, the replacements are very similar Vauxhall Corsa cars. Curiously they are re-using existing fleet numbers. However, although most of the 2008-vintage Corsas work from Barking garage, the new vehicles have been seen mainly at Lea Valley and Edmonton. It would be interesting to know if old and new examples of the same number are in service at the same time, or perhaps the new cars have cascaded mid-age cars to Barking. Or perhaps it is another admin cock-up! Time will (sometimes) tell! This photograph taken at Lea Valley Garage on 23rd July 2011 shows new car 93 alongside older 134. Note the revised design, lighter colour, and the reduced amount of lettering (there is a small Arriva fleetname on the bonnet). In the background is one of the Citaro artics that are due to be replaced on route 73 on 3rd September.
