Here is a first proper look at a former ERU Volvo demountable in general use. 2569V was caught as it rounded Marble Arch on 10th June 2008. The most noticeable change is the repaint of the front panel from red (with white lettering) to plain white. Other changes are the removal of the red and white side striping and addition of Tube Lines logos. The Emergency lettering on the illuminated headboard has been painted out but is still visible.
Note that the wheel cut-out on the dropside body lines up with the wheels, something that did not happen with the Mercedes and Iveco lorries. It is thought that the bodies were modified when the Volvos were delivered, although they were very rarely used together until the recent redeployment.
