| Details: Most of the 19 Land Rovers that have been taken into the numbered fleet since 1963 were long wheelbase examples used as personnel carriers. An exception was 4404LR (M997BEC), a Land Rover Defender 110 Tdi model used as a HV Mains Fault Investigation Unit. The vehicle has a distinctive appearance and, being unlettered, may have been mistaken for a portaloo! The picture was taken at Neasden in 1996. This vehicle can still be seen in the London area although now operated by SeeBoard. | ||
