Details: 2265B (GUV265W) was one of the first Bedford TL lorries bought by London Transport, arriving in August 1980. Larger than most of its brothers, it had a TL1630 chassis and a 16-ton capacity, plain dropside body, mounted rather high. The lack of tail-lift must have made loading and unloading quite difficult. It was photographed at Purfleet in March 1990, two years after it had left the fleet. As with many former service vehicles, the London Transport lettering has been obliterated but not the fleet number. Note that the cab is partially tilted! |
