| Details: Five Mercedes-Benz 814 dropside trucks arrived in a red livery in 1990 for use by bus garages, although some were later used by LUL. This example (2487M H218FLB) was based at Walthamstow bus garage during 1991 then transferred to Acton. The shade of red appears to somewhat lighter than LT standard, and the cab-side lettering is black rather than the usual white. This picture also demonstrates that drop-sides really do drop! This truck was soon repainted to LUL white/blue and was still in stock at mid-2003. | |||
