| Details: A pair of Metronet high-roof Transit crew vans back-to-back at Acton Works on 31st March 2009 comprising 6583F and 5879F. The fleetlists obtained occasionally from Tube Lines do not give allocation details in a traditional format, instead using customer codes that are sometimes obscure (BCVZD42 BCV SRA TF OPS MANAGER is a good example) and which appear to be for accounting purposes as much as anything. The codes will naturally not be published but I will try to use them to provide some context when writing picture captions. Unfortunately the most recent list did not include the meanings for the codes and some of them have changed. For example, both the vans shown here are allocated to SSLMC24 which, apart from being Metronet SSL, tells us very little. However, by comparing the allocated vehicles to an earlier list (and ignoring the possibility of other changes!) I can deduce that this is probably the Power and Electrical department. 5879F would have just celebrated its third birthday so was probably due for replacement soon. 6583F was taken on lease in December 2008 and appears to have been an addition rather than a renewal. | |||||
