| Details: A pleasant surprise at this year's Cobham (Brooklands) bus rally was the appearance of both of the Bedford CALV ambulances once owned by London Transport. 1492B on the right is a familiar vehicle, having been owned by the London Bus Preservation Trust for many years. 1532B on the other hand has not been reported for years. It is believed to have changed ownership recently and appeared in unlettered white livery. I'm not sure if these two vehicles would ever have been together before. 1492B was new in May 1968 and spent most of the next 17 years at Aldenham Works. 1532B was new in May 1969 and was based at Chiswick. Both were withdrawn in 1985 and it is possible they were stored together prior to their sale. In the background of this photo (taken on 21st April 2013) are the cockpit sections of TSR2 and VC-10 aircraft. | ||
