Details: Bought in 1963 as an Auxiliary Breakdown Tender, 1282F (580EYU) survived by virtue of having been converted into a communications truck. As the last Ford Thames Trader in the fleet, it was retained when withdrawn in the early 1980s, and restored by the apprentices at Acton Works. Although it always carried red livery whilst active, it was repainted Chiswick green, as carried by the majority of contemporary lorries. It was seen on display at the Chiswick Works open day on 5th August 1984. The vehicle was still in stock as of late-2003.
