Details: After using Ford Escort estates for some years, the annual intake of inspector's cars was supplied by Vauxhall from about 1981. These were Chevettes until 1984, then Astras. The latter featured as both estates and vans, and most carried the familiar roof-mounted roundels. 3268B (A441SCR) was pictured at Victoria station near the end of its two year life in 1986. Note that Astras built as vans were classed as commercial vehicles and therefore carried the Bedford name.
