Stagecoach increased its presence on London bus work during 2022 when it bought two smaller operators. In June it took over the eastern half of Tower Transit, operating from Lea Interchange garage between Stratford and Leyton (the western half of Tower Transit had already passed to an RATP-led joint venture six months earlier). Then in September 2022 it absorbed the fleet and routes latterly run by Hackney Community Transport. Each take-over involved around 150 buses but only a handful of service vehicles. Volkswagen Transporter van VU69FYO was latterly with Tower Transit and when seen at Stratford Bus Station on 18th October 2022 the only evidence of the change was that the company logos on the forward panels had been removed (compare with a view from 2020). Stagecoach logos, and perhaps fleetnumbers, may be applied in due course. |
